Pragmatix’s experience in complex projects has contributed to the expansion of Auckland’s premier hotel, Cordis, operated by Langham Hospitality Group.
This large project provides 243 additional rooms in a new 17-story tower, and re-modelling of the existing hotel’s front of house, and food and beverage areas. Pragmatix has worked very closely with Langham Hospitality Group, Great Eagle and the consultant team to develop a design to optimise the 5 star experience sought by the owner and operator, while staying within the budget constraints needed to deliver a viable investment.
Procurement of a tier one construction team was a key factor in successfully building on the compact site adjacent to one of Auckland’s busiest arterial roads. Minimising hotel disruption and maintaining a positive guest experience during the 28 month construction programme relies on close
and regular communication between the construction and hotel management teams.
The project is due for completion mid-2021, in time for Auckland hosting America’s Cup and APEC guests. Pragmatix is the client’s project manager and Engineer to the Construction Contract.
“As an offshore client it was critical we engaged a project manager we could rely on and would guide us through all the local conditions. At the same time we needed a leader that would focus the consultant team on what is important to us – time, money and quality of product.”
