Pragmatix is assisting one of New Zealand’s foremost science-sector organisations with a multi-site redevelopment programme to create nationally significant science workplaces of the future in Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. Work started with strategic planning and external expert procurement.
Each regional project includes laboratories, workshops, mobilisation/demobilisation facilities, stores, work-space (office) and outdoor experimentation areas. Accommodation will be provided for over 500 science and support staff who will be relocated from their current work environments.
Our scope of involvement is extensive, including the preparation of a business brief for the advancement of scientific work and research, preparation of a workplace strategy, land acquisition and divestment, design and consenting for three major property assets, governance, and board and shareholder approvals. We are responsible for all aspects of development strategy, design, consenting, procurement and delivery by a combination of new-build, refurbishment and relocation. The firm is heavily involved in the integration of client expertise into the designs, specialist scientific, hard and soft fitout for turn-key delivery, all whilst maintaining business productivity and profitability. The programme enjoys a close partnership with Maori and is proceeding predictably under excellent management and extended-team contribution.
