PROJECT MANAGEMENT KEY INFORMATION
| Project Name: Drury Centre Client: Kiwi Property Location: Drury Project Timeline: Q1 2018 – 2025 Approx value: TBC Sector: Master Planning, Residential, Commercial, Retail Scope: Transit Oriented Development (TOD), 53-hectare site |
Description of Project:
A new greenfields development to create a new place for Aucklanders to live, work and play. Kiwi Property’s land for development is a 53-hectare site that will see residential development alongside, parks, retail and offices, located 35 kilometres south of the Auckland CBD, on key public transport and roading networks.
Role Undertaken:
Pragmatix provided project management services during masterplanning and concept design to allow a Plan Change and Resource Consent for a new mixed-use town centre near the new Drury Central train station, focusing on a Transit Oriented Development (TOD). The development will include commercial, retail, residential, and community spaces as well as key roading infrastructure links.
Our role was to work closely with Kiwi’s development team, planners, architects, urban designers and engineers to prepare a masterplan and Plan Change to bring the land forward for development and to best determine the appropriate design and staging for the project’s feasibility and to further the design and construction for the Resource Consent for the first stage of the development, including subsequent management of bulk earthworks, civil, roading, and infrastructure design and construction works.
Value added to project:
We prepared a case for the required infrastructure in the Drury region to participate in a hearing for the Plan Change, which was successful in bringing the previously rural land forward for a metropolitan town centre zone. We led the design team for the Stage 1 Resource Consent, which was one of the first in NZ successfully granted under the Fast-Track Consenting Act.
