Description of Project:
The Crawshaw Primary School Weathertightness Remediation project involved weather tightness remedial works on six school blocks, including roof and cladding replacement, framing removal and treatment for damaged timber, and minor structural upgrades. This has been completed over two stages.

Role Undertaken:
Pragmatix managed the construction phase of the project, overseeing all aspects of the remediation works and providing Engineer to the Contract and Project Management Services.  ensuring that the project was completed close to the original programme and 6.6% under budget despite the challenges and additional work required

Value added to the Project:
Pragmatix added significant value to the project through effective time, quality, and cost management. Phase one was completed close to the original programme and 6.6% under budget despite the challenges and additional work required because of the original condition of the buildings. During Phase 2 Sarah and Michael worked closely with the contracting team, the school and MOE to provide flexible and innovative solutions such as staged sequencing of buildings to mitigate programme delays because of an increased scope of work to properly address the state of the buildings. The team has also worked closely with the school and integrated coordination of 5YA finishing works to complete both work streams in parallel to make efficiency and cost gains that benefited both the school’s project and the Capital work projects. This has reduced costs to both parties, and the team was then able to hand over high quality outcomes that have positively impacted the school and community.
