Description of Project:
The Gate A rejuvenation scope focused on resolving significant flooding and subsidence issues by redesigning the area with improved stormwater performance, safer pedestrian access, and updated civil, structural, electrical, and landscape elements. It also included creating a flexible event space, integrating cultural and community features.
Role Undertaken:
Our role was to procure and lead the design team from concept through to construction. We were engaged to draft the business case for the project on behalf of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited which was successfully approved by their board. Pragmatix were engaged as Engineer to Contract.
Value added to project:
Pragmatix provided strong end to end project leadership, coordinating all consultants, managing programme, scope, tender documentation, contract formation and stakeholder engagement to keep the Gate A project progressing smoothly. We also delivered proactive problem solving and client support, including resolving cross discipline issues, managing enabling works, and stepping in early to address risks which was something even the client noted as uncommon and highly valuable.
