Equal
Pragmatix believes that Health & Safety through design, construction and asset operation are ranked equal with any other aspect of the project. The company establishes a project culture of vital interest in keeping people safe. In close co-operation with owners to ensure their Health & Safety requirements are met, our project managers clearly establish design and construction obligations in contracts for service, and manage accordingly.
Our health & safety policies, practices and procedures have been independently assessed and we are pre-qualified by PREQUAL.
Focus
Pragmatix’s focus is on the prevention of incidents and accidents during construction and in the end-use of built assets. Our project managers require designers and contractors to plan for and implement high standards of hazard identification, risk management, on-site communication and training. Statutory, regulatory and code-of-practice compliance is the minimum performance requirement. Our behaviour is guided by a belief that there is no process or task so urgent or important that an owner should not authorise the time to find a safe solution.
Personnel
Designers are required to carefully consider the Health & Safety of personnel involved in construction, end use and maintenance. All construction staff must hold Site Safe Commercial passports and be trained in the work undertaken or closely supervised by someone who is. Independent Safety Audits are undertaken by Site Safe (or other approved experts) at agreed intervals, and findings with recommendations are distributed to the contractor, project manager and owner at the same time. Corrective action is undertaken decisively.
Pragmatix are a partner of MATES in Construction, supporting their vision of significantly improving mental wellness and reducing suicide in the construction industry.
