Description of Project:
Tainui Group Holdings challenged Pragmatix and the operation team to uplift the final Green Star application for Kmart Distribution Centre from 4 Stars to 5 Stars. This involved finding more than 10 additional points to achieve the uplift.
Role Undertaken:
- Project Management of the uplift from a 4-star to a 5-star Green Star rating. Facilitating the As-Built Green Star Submission, working closely with Calder Stewart and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating operational activities such as the Building Tuning Process and managing tenant-related changes during the certification period.
- Liaising with NZGBC, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely submission and resolution of post-round clarifications.
- Working with the Client and Tenant to develop sustainable policies and SOP’s to support compliance with the Green Star rating.
Value added to the Project:
- Securing a prestigious 5 Star Green Star rating, enhancing the environmental credentials and marketability of the Kmart facility
- Streamlining certification processes, ensuring that all documentation, clarifications, and stakeholder communications were handled efficiently and professionally
- Supporting TGH’s sustainability goals, contributing to the broader Ruakura Superhub vision of low-impact, high-performance infrastructure
- Marketing and communications support, including co-authoring media releases and coordinating with NZGBC for branded certification materials
