Description of Project:
Situated on a 30,000m2 site the facility comprises two 2,500m2 freezers, two 2,500m2 chillers and offers a total of 16,760 pallets spaces with versatile storage solutions to cater for both short-term transit and long-term storage needs. The primary function of the facility is to store and distribute a mixture of imported and local frozen and chilled consumer goods throughout the Waikato region.
Role Undertaken:
Pragmatix were engaged in the last 4 months of the project to assist the TGH Delivery Manager to establish and manage an effective Closeout Strategy. Off the back of the successful tenant handover of the Kmart Distribution Centre, Pragmatix came on board at Big Chill. Our role included setting up a closeout strategy including managing closeout meetings to ensure that the building commissioning and completion was met, allowing for a flawless Tenant Handover.
Value added to the Project:
- Completion of the building including commissioning and drawdown of freezers, defecting, compliance documentation and handover documentation was managed so effectively the Tenant was fully operational the day after PC.
- We also managed the process over the next two years to close out the Green Star accreditation application, stepping in to assist following consultant delays and issues with documentation. The final submission was made May 2025, targeting a 4 star Green Star As Built rating.
- The tenant, contractor and client were all satisfied that the handover documentation and compliance applications were completed nearly entirely prior to completion, and to an excellent standard.
