Jack Lyness

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Jack is an experienced Project Manager with a multidisciplined engineering background. Jack has a demonstrated history of successful project set up, contract management and leadership within technical and live environments. He is an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a solid understanding of quality systems and big picture thinking. Jack has strong communication skills, a drive to deliver great project results for clients, and a sound understanding of front-end design and consenting, modern procurement and contract management.  

Focused on front-end strategy and guidance, Jack lead the Lincoln University programme of works which included complex unitary plan submissions, change of use, heritage and overarching global NES consents, urban planning requirements, negotiating with local authorities and agreeing draft conditions. The development of a 2-acre site in Akaroa started with extensive NES consents, iwi requirements and local environmental requirements including vested infrastructure and change of use, Ecan permits and archaeological sites of importance. Jack successfully navigated 60+ consents of varying natures and dealt with 7 of the building consenting authorities across the South Island. 

Jack engages with teams and believes in team culture. He has been responsible for guiding other Project Managers through the delivery process and ensuring collaborative approaches are adopted. During his career, Jack has also worked as a Site Manager for some of the largest construction companies in New Zealand, leading major elements and more latterly, consultant design teams, whole projects and programmes of work.
